EASTERN CAR LINER, INC. Conducts Safety Seminar for PCTC

 

Eastern Car Liner, Inc. (ECL) conducted a two day SAFETY SEMINAR for PCTC on April 23–24, 2012. Cordial Shipping, Inc. thru Fair Shipping Corp. hosted the seminar. It was held at the FSC Training Center.

The seminar was spearheaded by Mr. Isamu Matsuura the General Manager of ECL Crew Management Department and Ship Management Division. Other members of the delegation were Capt. S. Chiyoda, DGM; Capt. K. Iwata, DGM; Mr. N. Takatera, Supt.; Mr. S. Kamiya, DGM; Mr. K. Chiba, Mgr.; and Capt. Ms. M. Nakamura, Staff. The Filipino counterpart from ECL Manila office were Capt. R. Clitar, Marine Supt. and Mr. B. Ollanas, Cargo Supt.

On the 1st day of the seminar, Safety Cargo Operation were tackled with Capt. Clitar, Messrs. Kamiya, Chiba & Ollanas as speakers. Free Open Forum followed.

There was a Social Gathering on the early evening of the 1st day. Capt. Chiyoda, Deputy General Manager Management Department and Ship Management Division gave the opening remarksand welcome address. ECL managers were brushing elbows with the local participants: managers and crew of different manning companies. Dinner and drinks were served.

Deck and Engine crew were separated on the 2nd day. Capt. Iwata conducted Cargo Operation Case Study for Deck and Mr. Takatera on the Engine side.

There was a short Closing Ceremony with Mr. Takatera, Technical Superintendent, Ship Management Division delivering the closing remarks. ECL gave out a token ECL Laser Pointer Pen to the participants. Photo ops followed.

 

The Seminar was attended by 5 different manning companies that man ECL vessels.

Based on the Evaluation Feedback from the participants, the Seminar was a complete success.
