ELECTRIC ARC WELDING – SHIELDED METAL ARC WELDING (EAW- SMAW) WELDING COURSE
Course Duration : 5 days
Course Description:
• FSCTC Welding training starts by discussing how to read welding blueprints combined with classroom film viewing “Practical Welding Skills Shipboard”. It continues with the basics of both gas and arc welding. Then, in logical sequence, it proceeds into specific "how-to" instructions on all types of welding practices. It also explains the proper procedures for brazing and cutting with welding equipment. Safety is stressed throughout this series.
• Shielded Metal Arc Welding emphasizes an overview of safety and shielded metal arc welding processes and equipment. This course gives participants a real-world, “HANDS-ON-PRACTICE” in these areas almost all throughout the five (5) days course, i.e. striking or creating the arc for welding, proper manipulation and maintaining the arc, laying out of welding bead, laying out in straight line of stringer weld bead, welding between stops or the so called welding joints, practicing various welding positions and welding types.
