DIGITAL-READY FSGC: CYBERSECURITY ADVOCACY & AWARENESS SEMINAR

MALATE, MANILA, July 26, 2025—TheFAIR Shipping Group of Companies (FSGC), in partnership with the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) successfully completed the Cybersecurity Advocacy and Awareness Seminar. It was facilitated by the two seasoned cybersecurity officers of DICT, Ms. Maricar G. Magpili and Mr. Kris Rodzen G. Delos Santos.

 

The one-day seminar aimed to educate all FSGC employees and officers about the history of cyber threats in the Philippines, its elements, and importance in our daily lives. Moreover, the speakers provided an overview of various financial scams and safe online banking. They also presented an overview of the enacted plans and policies with relation to ICT / Cybersecurity which includes the Republic Act No. 10175 or The Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012—An Act Defining Cybercrime, Providing for the Prevention, Investigation, Suppression, and the Imposition of Penalties Therefore and For Other Purposes.

 

This initiative is a follow-up education and training to FSGC’s Cybersecurity Awareness Seminar held in December 2024. It highlights FSGC’s commitment to strengthen cybersecurity awareness and resilience among employees.
